Dr. Leroy P. Jones has been a Professor of Economics at Boston University for the past 20 years and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University. His entire professional career has been devoted to policy reform in Developing and Transition Economies. He has undertaken more than one-hundred-and-fifty consulting assignments in more than 40 countries. While he works in the areas of privatization and SOE reform, regulation, industry, pricing, cost-benefit analysis, taxation, public expenditure analysis, development and trade, he is best known for BIDE's path-breaking work in Public Enterprise Reform and Privatization. He has authored or co-authored 5 books and numerous articles in these areas. A teachers’ teacher, for 22 years he designed, organized and lectured continuously at the every single annual summer workshop of the former Harvard Institute for International Development (HIID) on Public Enterprises in Developing Countries, and after 1992, State-Owned Enterprise Reforms and Privatization in Developing Countries. He developed the applied microeconomics course for the Public Enterprise Workshop at HIID (Harvard Institute for International Development) in 1975 and trained faculty members teaching principles of economics courses at Boston University for many years.

Dr. Prajapati Trivedi is currently the Senior Economist for the World Bank and a visiting faculty at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. While he has worked as advisor on economic issues to governments in more than 25 countries, teaching remains his central passion. He started his teaching career as a faculty member of Delhi University in 1974 and has since taught at several prestigious academic institutions in India and the US. In 1987, he was appointed as the youngest Chaired Professor at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta, India’s leading business school. He completed is B.A. (Economics Honors) from St. Stephen’s College Delhi University, M.Sc. (Economics) from the London School of Economics and Ph.D. (Economics) from Boston University. He has taught applied economics to mid-career student at Harvard since 1979 both as a visiting faculty in various summer programs as well as a full time faculty member of the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. Highly rated by mid career students for his teaching skills, Dr. Trivedi has written an equally popular textbook entitled, “Applied Microeconomics for Public Policy makers.”
