ESSENTIAL ECONOMICS

VENUE
The Workshop will be held at the To Be Announced. Boston is the capital of the state of Massachusetts and one of the oldest cities in the United States. It is a vital and dynamic center of government, commerce, medicine, banking and the arts, and the home of such renowned educational institutions as Harvard, MIT and Boston University.

COSTS
The tuition for the two week Workshop is $4400. The cost of hotel accommodations and full American breakfast is $1490. Unlike many similar programs, the accommodations are single occupancy. Payments for accommodations must be made to BIDE by To Be Announced. Tuition is payable by To Be Announced.

Participants will be responsible for the cost of travel between their homes and Boston. They will also require an allowance sufficient to cover the cost of local transportation, laundry, telephone, lunch, dinner and other incidental expenses. $40 will be adequate to cover such expenses.

Please note that health insurance for participants is not provided by the Workshop. We recommend that all participants obtain health insurance prior to departure from their country.

VISAS
Each participant is responsible for the necessary visas and other travel documents required to attend the Workshop. Applications should be made as early as possible to allow sufficient time for visas to be issued. 

FUNDING
BIDE is not in a position to offer financial assistance to applicants. Participants have been traditionally funded by their own organizations or through technical assistance portions of loans from bilateral and multilateral agencies such as the World Bank, African Development Bank, Asian Development Bank, the United Nations Development Program or the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Participants are advised to contact the local representative offices of these organizations for the possibility of financial assistance.
